Transition Resources

Bergen Center for Child Development’s CBI-WBL program works closely with the local community and the NJ Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and the NJ Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS). Our Community Based-Instruction (CBI) and Work Based Learning (WBL) staff educates students on independent living and personal management skills.

The final area of transition planning focuses on connecting our students with the services and supports they will need when they leave school. BEFORE they graduate, we help students and families access services through the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS), and The Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CBVI). We take that extra step and assist our families with applications for Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Access Link transportation services. Below are resources located through NJ for families to utilize.
