This season has been an exciting time for Bergen Center staff and students. Between Teacher Appreciation celebrations, field trips, and our Spring Social, the school year has not slowed down just yet.

Following our return from spring break, we celebrated Teacher Appreciation week by treating our staff to a bagel breakfast, sandwiches, a pizza lunch, and make-your-own taco bowls. Our teachers and paraprofessionals are crucial to the success of our students, and we are so grateful for the work they do everyday!

To celebrate Special Education Week, we held an abbreviated Spirit Week. Students wore blue to celebrate the Bergen Center, and on Superhero Day, we met an actual superhero and his partner. The Bergen County Sheriff's department visited us with a member of their K9 unit.

We ended the week with one of our favorite events of the year, our Spring Social. White Beeches Golf and Country Club, just down the road from our school, hosted our students and staff for a day of food, fun and dancing. It was a great day to celebrate the end of the school year with students and staff dressed for the occasion.
With just a few weeks left of the school year, we’ll be winding down with our last field trip, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics, an alumni breakfast with a presentation of our 2025 Ruth Diebner CBI-WBL award, and graduation ceremony and dinner. A few of our older students will even be visiting Ramapo College to attend the Dare to Dream Student Leadership conference. Though the school year is almost over, we are so excited to spend the next few weeks celebrating our students.
